  • TORRANCE, Calif. – August, 2013 – Farmers and Merchants Trust Company (FMTC)

    The State Bar of California has appointed Jeffrey A. Hahn, Senior Vice President of Farmers and Merchants Trust Company to the California Legal Board of Specialization.

    Mr. Hahn is one of two non-attorney individuals who will serve on the Board, which oversees the activities and testing of the nine (9) areas of legal specialization authorized by the State Bar of California. The three-year term of Mr. Hahn’s appointment will be effective October 2013.

    A longtime resident of the South Bay, Mr. Hahn has over 36 years of experience in all areas of Trust and Estate administration and is the Manager of the Torrance Farmers and Merchants Trust Company Office.

    California’s oldest continuously operating trust company, has opened a Torrance, Calif. office, providing South Bay residents with full-service personal trust and professional investment management services. The office will be led by Senior Vice President Jeff Hahn, who brings nearly 40 years of experience in wealth management and financial services.

    Farmers and Merchants Trust Company was founded in Long Beach in 1920 by the Walker family and expanded to Orange County in 2000. The Torrance office continues this expansion into the South Bay market as the company endeavors to further its reach throughout Southern California. 

    Hahn, a 40-year resident of the South Bay, has a longstanding family history with the organization that encompasses three generations, with his father, uncle and great uncle serving on the Board of Directors of Farmers & Merchants Bank.

    Hahn’s extensive experience in financial services includes positions with First Citizens Bank, First Regional Bank and Santa Monica Bank, among others. The Manhattan Beach resident earned his bachelor’s degree from Claremont McKenna College and received his law degree from the University of San Diego. 

    Hahn will be joined by Trust Officer and longtime colleague Connie Jensen. Jensen, who has worked with Hahn since 1980, brings extensive experience in administering and managing accounts for clients throughout Southern California. Together, Jensen and Hahn bring a combined 76 years of wealth management experience to Farmers and Merchants Trust Company.

    Santa Barbara, Calif. (May 1, 2017) - Farmers and Merchants Trust Company (FMTC) California's oldest continuously operating trust company, has opened a Santa Barbara, Calif. office, providing Central Coast residents with full-service personal trust and professional investment management services. The office will be led by Senior Vice President Frank Tabar, who brings nearly 35 years of experience in wealth management and financial services.

    Mr. Tabar's extensive experience in financial services includes positions with Santa Barbara Bank & Trust and Bank of the West, among others. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Diego, US International University, and his Master of Business Administration in Financial Management from National University, Los Angeles. He has specialized training in trust and fiduciary risk and compliance and is a Certified Trust Auditor (CTA), a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE) and a Certified Securities Operation Professional (CSOP). Mr. Tabar has also served several years on the boards of Santa Barbara Symphony, Santa Barbara Family YMCA, and Rotary Club of Santa Barbara Sunrise.

    Mr. Tabar will be joined by Trust Officer Del Rudeen. Mr. Rudeen brings extensive experience in administering and managing accounts for clients in the Santa Barbara area. Together, Mr. Rudeen and Mr. Tabar bring a combined 61 years of wealth management experience to Farmers and Merchants Trust Company.
